Three-dimensional tie-dye painting
Installation art|Tie-dye, cotton|2018
In ancient China, calligraphy and tie-dyeing were both very popular arts at that time. However, calligraphy and traditional paintings were respected by people. They were often created by men. The man can define calligraphy according to their own standards and could freely create and express themselves. But tie-dyeing is often made by women, who are forced to use the tie-dye process to make clothes and work like machines day and night. When women are deprived of the right to contact or learn art, it is often difficult for them to grasp some important creative ideas, affecting personal performance and artistic achievement. In this project, I use the tie-dye craft to draw three-dimensional traditional paintings, so that more people can pay attention to the creations of female artists.

Why bear the pain brought by aesthetics
Sculpture|Medical gauze, Gypsum powder, Iron wire|2019
We, for one, are experiencing a serious aesthetic kidnapping. In life, the ubiquitous factors "in the name of beauty" make requirements for women. The pursuit of beauty is not wrong, cosmetic surgery is acceptable, I am more concerned with the number of many Chinese women who turned themselves into a barbie version, meaning they all look the same as each other. As a result, losing unique characteristics of themselves. Now, in the age of shallow beauty standards, where looks are more important than personality; How does this outrageous aesthetic obsession affect our values? I want to resist society's invisible pressure on women through sculpture. I chose to use gauze, plaster, and other materials that will be used during the recovery period after plastic surgery to reflect the resistance to aesthetic kidnapping.

Twelve Strokes
Installation art|Cardboard, Acrylic, LED|2018
The number 12 symbolizes completeness and cycles in Chinese culture, reflected in the twelve months and twelve traditional time divisions. Interestingly, the words “mother,” “friend,” “lover,” and “teacher” each contain twelve strokes, representing indispensable roles in our lives. I chose the word “mother” and utilized LED lights to illuminate each stroke, symbolizing her selfless love and care. The flickering of each stroke not only deconstructs the structure of the character but also pays homage to the deep affection of a mother. The changing light signifies her eternal presence and guidance in our lives. Through the connection between the number 12 and these important figures, I hope to evoke a sense of appreciation and gratitude for those who play significant roles in our journey through life.
